How it works

Four steps. The rest is up to you.

A simpler path from browsing to driving. Pick what works for you, agree to clear terms, and go — for a month, a year, or all the way to owning the car.

01

Browse

Pick the car that suits your terms and use. Filter for what fits — weekly rate, mileage, length of stay, and any path to owning it.

02

Apply

Verify your ID with Stripe Identity: license + selfie. No credit check. No background check. No employment letter.

03

Agree

Read the agreement — the rate, the timing, what’s expected on each side. If it fits, sign in‑app. If it doesn’t, walk away — no harm done.

04

Drive

Hit the road. Pay weekly on the schedule you agreed to. Stay a month, a year, or work toward keeping the car — your call.

Built for how you drive

More than a rental. Less than a commitment.

Every car comes from a carhost in your community — a neighbor with a spare vehicle, a small operator down the road. Each listing tells you what the car is built for. Filter for the ones that fit your driving — gig work, daily commutes, whatever the road looks like for you.

Rent-to-own (on select listings)

Drive it, then keep it. The choice is yours.

Some listings open the door to owning the car. Pay weekly toward an agreed schedule, and when you reach the milestone, the option to buy at a set price is yours — to take or to leave.

Rent stays rent. Weekly payments are rent — not financing. Keep them simple, keep your options open.

Terms are upfront. The schedule and the buyout price are part of the listing before you start. No moving targets.

The buyout is your call. Hit the milestone, then decide whether to take it. CaxFi records the moment; the sale is handled directly between you and the carhost.

Common questions

The honest answers.

If something isn’t covered here, your agreement will have it — in plain language, not legal fog.

Do I need good credit?

No. We only verify identity (license + selfie via Stripe Identity) — no credit, background, or employment checks. The point is to keep the door open for working drivers.

Do I need my own insurance?

Yes. Active auto insurance is part of the agreement during your rental — whatever coverage works for you. The specifics are spelled out in the listing before you sign.

How long can I rent?

As long as the terms allow — that’s your call. Most rentals run for weeks to months. Billing is weekly, so you’re never locked into more than the next seven days.

What if I can’t pay one week?

Every listing is upfront about how late payments are handled — some are more flexible than others. Read the terms before you sign so you can pick the one that fits how steady your week looks. If life happens, message your carhost early; most situations get worked out when you communicate.

Can I rent for rideshare and delivery work?

Yes — if the listing is marked gig-allowed. Each one tells you which platforms it’s set up for. We don’t verify gig platform eligibility ourselves, so check the listing’s details before you apply.

Who handles maintenance?

It depends on the listing — some cover maintenance fully, some split it, and some leave smaller items (oil, wipers) to you. The setup is spelled out in the agreement, so you can pick what works for how you drive.

What if something comes up during the rental?

Most things resolve quickly through in-app messaging — just talk it out with your carhost. CaxFi handles the rails (identity, agreements, payments), and the day-to-day stays between you and the carhost. For anything bigger, the agreement spells out what’s expected on each side, so the path forward is clear.
